The Taste of Douglas County, the largest and premier food tasting event in Douglas County, will be held Thursday, August 20, 2009. Hours of the event are 5-8 PM at the Douglas County Events Center on the grounds of the Douglas County Fair in Castle Rock. This beautiful indoor, air conditioned facility offers the perfect setting for this type of event. It also offers plenty of free parking.

The Taste will once again offer food samplings from some of the area’s finest food service establishments. Join the Old Stone Church, Outback Steakhouse, John Holly’s Asian Bistro, LoDo's Bar & Grill, Pegasus on the Square, California Cafe, Trail Dust Steak House, Black Eyed Pea, Rockyard American Grill and other area favorites. Over 40 food service establishments, big and small, casual and fine dining, participate.
Many restaurants also give out coupons to get you to visit their establishments, and attendees can also register for free prizes drawings throughout the evening.
Tickets are $20 at the door, but only $10 in advance. Tickets include food from the participating establishments. There are also plenty of free beverages available and included in the ticket price.
Tickets will be sold at ticket outlets throughout the county, or online at www.tasteofdouglascounty.com. Ticket outlets will be Pegasus Restaurant, 313 Jerry Street in Castle Rock, LoDo’s Bar & Grill at Quebec and C-470, Enchanted Grounds Coffee and Café, 8800 South Colorado Boulevard and the Castle Rock Senior Center.
The Douglas County Events Center is located just east of I-25 at Exit 181 (Plum Creek).
